Maltese doctors
To consult a general practitioner in Malta you can go directly to a pharmacy as most of them have a room for consultations. Some GPs also offer consultations in private health facilities.
In Malta, doctors do not keep medical records (test results, for example), it is the patient's responsibility to keep them and bring them to the different consultations. The consultation is often paid for in cash and costs between 12 and 15 euros.

You can consult a specialist by making an appointment directly in their office. Sometimes you may be asked for a referral. The consultation is usually paid for in cash and costs between 30 and 80 euros, depending on the specialty. Remember to keep your bills to be reimbursed by your international health insurance in Malta.
